In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. Hebrews 2:10 NIV
Grow up, go to school, get a job, find someone and get married and then start a little family. It sounded so simple and so perfect. But to one young man, it just did not seem to work. He left school before ever getting his degree. He found a job, then another, and then had to just keep finding jobs. He found someone. But she was not right for him. So, he found another, and then another. Each change and each failure hurt him. His life became somewhat of a burden until he returned to Christ. It was not an instant perfection process. There are still times of suffering. How do we take ours?
Jesus Christ left his highest and rightful place in Glory to bring us the opportunity to reach His Glory too. He chose to come and suffer. He knows more than anyone, how much can be gained in spiritual terms through our trials. He has shown us that choosing God over our comfort actually places us in God´s hands. There is no place on earth that is better to be, than with God. Anything that places us there, anything that enhances our desire for and our need for God, is a blessing. It benefits us even if it hurts. Nobody likes pain. But if we are serious about coming to know the Lord and perfecting our faith until it saves us, then following Jesus is still the Way. Shall we pray that our sufferings now will help us lean on Jesus more, and perfect our faith in Him too?
Lift our attention above our current woes. Set our hearts on being with You and increasing our faith today, we pray!
