Take Away Sins

Hebrews 10:11 take away sins

Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. Hebrews 10:11 NIV

Every week they held mass in a chapel at the religious institution where she worked. One day, when it was time to go forward and partake of the unleavened bread, the lady was moved to stand up and get into the line. The next day, she was called into the executive´s office. She was in trouble! The company had their own priest who performed the ceremonies and he had not seen the woman in confession. She was not supposed to taste the Body of Christ unless she had first confessed her sins to him. These were the rules and she had clearly broken them. Who do we go to for the removal of our guilt?

God in His wisdom found a Way. He sent His own Son to carry our guilt even though He was not guilty. Christ willingly performed His task giving His last breath for us. Then, after His sacrifice was completed, He took up His life again. Now He sits at the right hand of God to intercede on our behalf in Heaven. He is working hard right now to see God´s will carried out and us, His children, brought home safe and clean. Because of who He was and because He was blameless, He is the only One who will ever be able to pay for our failures. But He can, and He did! Unlike our earthly priests who merely perform rituals and petitions for us, Jesus can wipe our guilty past´s clean. Christ can take us from where we were, turn us from our former selfish ways, and take our sins away. Shall we make it our greatest desire to draw ever closer to Him today?

Dear Jesus,

Only You can truly make us clean. Please draw us so near to You that Your sacrifice will truly take away our sins, we pray!

Amen
