Is Coming Soon

Hebrews 10:37 Is Coming Soon

For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. Hebrews 10:37 NIV

Less than a year had gone by when a young man left his wife to go across the sea. She could not understand what in the world was important enough that it should ever separate them. But he left anyway. For almost two months she could not speak to him, not even on the telephone. She thought of him day and night. Finally, the happy day came when she was able to call and speak with him. But she still had to wait for over a week more before he came home to her. Have we ever waited anxiously for a loved one to return? Did it feel like the delay dragged too long before we could throw ourselves into those loving arms?

Jesus has promised to come back to take us to be with Him. He will bring us clean unto the Father. There are some who have put their faith and their hope in Him. They are looking forward to that great day. The hope of the Christian can keep us going. It can give us focus. It can lift us up when our world gets us down. The more we yearn to be with Jesus, the more our hearts are with Him. And because He sees everything, and because we offer Him our hearts each day, that reunion is drawing nearer. Unlike the woman who could not speak to her husband who was away, we can talk to Christ. We can pray to Him. We can listen for His encouragement and His instructions. Shall we let our hearts mount up in expectation? Shall we embrace a deep burning in our souls and kindle our desire for our Savior who is coming soon for us?

Dear Lord,

Build in us an increasing desire to be with You! Let us draw near, let our hearts warm, let us come to know You and love You more the closer we get to Your soon coming, we pray!
