Hebrews 10:36 Persevere

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:36

The group of sightseers got off the bus, climbed the stairs, and assembled on top of the Great Wall of China. Before their guide released them to take photos and appreciate the spectacular beauty of it, she promised them that if they climbed to a certain lookout point on the wall, they would not be disappointed with the view. The tourists set out. It was a hot day. They took pictures as they hiked up the wide path that wound up the steep hillside. But there were only a few who pressed on until they reached the place that their guide had told them about. From there, they could see from a vantage point how amazing this work of art really is. The massive wall wound up, down, and around the hills until it disappeared on both horizons. Will we be the ones who persevere until we receive what the Lord has promised us?

What we stand to see is an infinitely grander view. We are promised to witness the wonder and glory that is our God! We are invited to stand in the presence of the Lord! It does not matter what we may need to endure here on earth. What we have been promised is not something made by mere men. The mind-blowing marvels that we shall experience are just beyond our vision for now and far higher than what we can imagine. But just as God is worthy of our trust, His promises will surely come true for those who care to see them. Shall we set out today? Would we like to be the ones who persevere and make it to see that grandest display of majesty?

Dear Lord,

Set a spark of interest within our hearts. Make it burn so hot that we will drive hard after knowing You until we persevere anything that we must, just to come and meet You, we pray!
