But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17 NIV
The Father had a large ranch. He had worked hard to make it into a place that could more than provide a living for all his children. But, his dream would not come true. As his children grew up and had families of their own, each had different views of what paths to take. A time came when a solution needed to be found. The ranch was eventually sold and shares were divided up so that each child could go off and buy a smaller place on their own. The hearts of the family members were saved from conflicting ideas and strife. Sometimes we all need a little wisdom from above that helps us avoid greedy or quarrelsome natures. Could we do with a little more wisdom from Heaven too?
If we focus on the world in which we live and on our own ambitions in this life, we are sure to run into people who would rub us the wrong way. Some people will even stand directly in our paths. A wise person, one who accepts the wisdom that comes directly from God may receive a great blessing when this happens. If we use these moments to check ourselves, perhaps we can grow closer to the heart of the Lord. If we can remember the love of God and seek to have Christ´s mercy and care in us, then we may tap into the wisdom they give from Heaven. Hearts all around us may benefit eternally if love is the result instead of strife. Shall we pray for wisdom from above that makes us better people and draws us closer in heart and in nature to the Lord today?
Teach us to walk so fully with You each day that we may lean on Your wisdom and hear Your voice guiding us, we pray!
