Living Hope

1st Peter 1.3 Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,        1st Peter 1:3 NIV

Her husband was loving and doting He was sweet, funny and the nicest guy. Anyone could see how well they got along. But then there came a day when he fell ill. He was in the prime of his life! This could not be happening! But it did. Cancer set in and they fought through the painful process of therapy and medicine. In the end, he had to go. He was taken from her and laid to rest. She mourned. Her heart had been pierced and one might think that she would not be able to smile again. However, her story is not a sad one. She has hope! Praise be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus! Have we also been given this greatest gift? Have we been born up into a life-giving hope through the resurrection of Christ?

Not everyone has this hope. We may not have felt is well up inside of us yet. We might not have experienced what it is like or the strength that knowing we are in God´s hand brings. But the people who do are living testimonies. Their lives reflect this hope that is found in the resurrection. They can put a smile on their face even after the most painful loss or suffering. Their pain throws them on the strongest shoulders ever! Christ carries their woes right to His cross. After the cross comes resurrection and new birth. Hope is poured out graciously from above! Would we like to wake up to find this hope growing inside of us? Would we like to be one of those who will sing praises to Savior of our souls?

Dear Lord,

Praise You, Lord! Thank You for giving us hope! Lift our hearts to know that we will all soon be with You, we pray!
