Don´t Be Afraid

Revelation 2:10 Don´t Be Afraid

Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.   Revelation 2:10  WEB

The day that the woman found out that she was pregnant, she was more than a little overwhelmed. On the one hand, she was happy because she knew that she was going to have a baby. But, on the other hand, she was scared. Will it hurt? Will I be a good mother? What if the baby doesn´t turn out okay? Will we be able to afford another mouth to feed? All these fears and more entered her mind and clouded up her heart. Have we ever feared for the future?

Being afraid is part of being human. Those people who step out of the mainstream and stop chasing the dreams of our world will find out real soon that the world will not be too happy with us. It will not take it lying down. All kinds of threats will pop up and try to deter anyone who would choose to know God. We have been warned that it won´t be easy to follow Jesus. The storm that will rage against us will be strong. The subtle dangers too, like contentment with where we stand with God, will be even harder to notice but will steal away our chances of spending eternity with the Maker of the Stars. Sometimes our choice to turn to seek God will place us at risk of cruel suffering or being an outcast. However, we can take hope. God has put a limit on those days. He will save us and take us to be with Him! Shall we pray that we come to walk so closely with our Savior that He can lift us above our fears?

Dear Lord,

Keep our eyes and our hearts on You! If we must suffer or face our fears, be there with us and hold us near, we pray!
