The little toddler´s daddy was working at the computer. The boy was playing with his toys nearby. He was entertained for a while, but soon the small child needed more interaction than to just be in the same room. He wanted to have some quality time with his father. So the toys were forgotten. He came and clung to his daddy´s legs. It was not long before daddy knew he had to stop what he was doing and be with his boy. He helped the little guy up onto his lap where the child immediately made himself comfortable. He wrapped his feet around and under his daddy´s knees so tight that nothing could wedge him from his favorite seat. Do we feel the need to sit down with our Father too?

Far from the picture Jesus gives us of persisting until we are permitted to come and sit with Him, this father and son still shared precious moments. Yet the picture could give us insight into how our Father in Heaven yearns for us to seek Him too. We could remain here all through our earthly days and busy ourselves with our toys. We could spend our time more distracted with everything else and never realize a deep seated desire to be with Him. But those precious few who do want to sit down with the Savior, can have their time together with Him. He wants it too! We can overcome our distractions and insist until we are taken to be with Him in joyful bliss for more than a thousand moments! Is that what we want too?

Dear Lord,

Help us to seek You so insistently that we will surely be lifted up to sit with You and spend our time together, we pray!
