The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!” Revelation 4:8 WEB
Singing and cooing softly, the young couple put their baby down for the night. He gratefully sank into his blankets and sucked on his pacifier. After a short while, his eyes closed as they sang and he slowly drifted off to sleep. The couple moved ever so slowly towards the door trying not to make a sound. But, just as they got out of the room, the baby stirred and cried out for them. They tried all the techniques and tricks they read or heard of to teach the child to sleep peacefully on his own. The parents were tired from having no rest day or night. Have we heard of the amazing beings that stand in the presence of God and praise Him without rest?
The parents were tired, but they loved their boy and would gladly go through the experience again because their child was so special to them. We are given a vision of beings that actually stand before the Almighty God. What they see, and what they experience there of the Divine, impacts them so completely that their only wish is to praise Him continually. Holy, holy, holy, is what forever streams from their mouths as their hearts pour out their devotion to Him. We may not see God yet, but we can see from the responses of those who do, that nothing more will enter our minds than to praise Him. We will thank the Lord forever for His greatness, His love, and His care! Shall we draw near the throne room today?
Dear Lord,
Let us experience enough of Your presence in our lives that we are left singing praises to You continually, we pray!
Amen
