I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. Revelation 5:6 WEB
The lady was visiting a fair with her nephew and happened by the livestock area. There was a small fenced-in place with some baby animals for a petting zoo. She went in where families were letting their toddlers touch and feed the cute little animals. The woman had a ball holding the fluffy rabbits and laughing at the curious baby goats. But one of the creatures, she just fell in love with. It was a cria, a baby llama. It had a tuft of hair on its head and stared up at the woman with big soft Bambi eyes. Her heart went out to it. It followed her around, and she caressed the little beauty as long as she could. Have we found the Lamb we love?
The image John saw stands in striking contrast to the cute little creature that the woman saw. The Lamb of God looked as though it had been slain. Our hearts should go out to this Lamb which stands in the midst of the throne and the elders. This Lamb has the seven horns, eyes, and Spirits of God! He was slain for us out of His love for us! He subjected Himself into the hands of men, not because He had to, but because He knew if He did, we could come to our Home with God! The beauty to be found in the Lamb far outshines any other beauty we can find on earth! Who would like to encounter the Lamb, the Son, the One who is worthy of all our love and adoration for all time to come?
Dear Lord,
Give us today the sweetest pleasure of all! Let us come to know and love the Lamb of God, our Savior, we pray!
Amen
