Peace Taken

Revelation 6:4 Peace Taken

Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.  Revelation 6:4  WEB

The family sat down together at the dinner table. It was the holidays and the perfect moment for everyone to enjoy each other´s company and catch up. But that day would not end so well. One of the siblings was going through a difficult stage in life. In his heart, there was only resentment and strife. His conversation began to sting in the ears and sensitive feelings of the others. The peaceful family gathering became a heated argument as the incriminations and insults sadly replaced the laughter. Once again, the prophecies of God become more evident. Have we experienced any sad loss of peace in our world?

It is normal and good for us to long for peace and love in our times and in the world around us. But, at the same time, we have been told that this sad turn of events would come. We must pass through this dark valley to reach the glorious summit on the other side. Our Savior had promised to be near us as we do. Our loving Heavenly Father waits with arms open. To those who look to Him, He has promised more peace than we can imagine. Let us use the pain we feel to draw us closer to the Savior and lean on Him!

Dear Lord,

Dry the tears we shed for the cruel times in which we live. Remind us of Your love and Your plans to bring the family together again. Set our hearts on that day and strengthen our spirits as we long for that day. Then help us share Your love to this world that seems to be losing it, we pray!

Amen
