After two weeks of working in a new job, a young lady got her paycheck. It was not much. She had started with the minimum wage. The next pay period came and she expected the same. But to her surprise, it was not! Her boss had given her a raise! It was only a few cents per hour, but her check was bigger than the one before! The extra money made her happy. But, what made her really happy was to know that her employers were pleased with the work she was doing. As we see the times unfolding and draw near the end, do we know how valued our work is to the One in charge of it all?

It might be immensely important to us living these days to know that our labors are being weighed. There is One way up the chain who must examine the results we are attaining and say what we are worth. If we are working only for earthly gain, we might get the reward for which we are striving. But, if we would like to work for a longer-lasting prize, we can still do much in the eyes of God to be found worthy. We must remember that the Lord sees all that we do and knows what we are really hoping for. Why don´t we pray to Him today and ask that we become worthy of gaining a healthy relationship with Him? If we show the Lord that we are truly interested in knowing Him, we just might be paid the higher prize and attain our Goal! Let´s work to gain the approval of God and become like the precious wine and oil that are reserved for Him!

Dear Lord,

Help us to be wise and work towards the worthy prize of knowing You and seeking to be with You forever, we pray!
