The young lady was busy all morning. Her mother, her mother-in-law, and her sisters were all in the hair-dressers and getting dressed. The groom, on the other hand, had to go over to his best man´s house to get dressed. Then he went to the chapel by himself to wait for the wedding ceremony to start. There were a lot of things running through his head, but one thing was clear. He would soon be married to the little bride that his heart went out to. When she stepped through the door, her beauty nearly took his breath away! There is a marriage coming real soon. But do we know how the bride is getting ready now?

The whole Bible mounts up towards one special moment. There are many stories and a lot of instruction within its pages. But they all point forward and create the mood for the moment when the bride and the Groom will come together at last. Christ, the Lamb, has been preparing for that great day. His bride, the church, is not a denominational group, but rather a type of believer. The people who will be called the wife, the one who will love their Groom forever are surely getting ready now. She represents all the children of God who are preparing themselves for a life eternal within Christ´s loving embrace. This can include us. We should pray each day that it does include us! Make all haste! Do whatever needs to be done! Get our hearts ready and instruct them to love the Groom! Let the Bride prepare herself now. Today is the day to get ready!

Dear Lord,

Give us the heart of the bride who is getting ready to be wed with our Lord and start our lives with Him now, we pray!
