Growing up in a small rural village way back then was difficult. It wasn´t only that times were tough politically and economically, but in the old European setting, the Catholic Church played an immense part in everyone´s lives. This was not a bad thing, except that she was born without a father. The rumors were cruel and the girl grew up knowing the pain and shame that some are forced to bear. When she was old enough to work she left the village to find a life somewhere else. But there was a part of her that never really healed from what she had suffered. Do we know that God sees everything and that those who have endured pain and still looked to Him will be repaid?

Our God is a God of Love. He is the God of justice, mercy, and wisdom. He sees everything, right down to what we hide deep within our hearts. Not one insult or injury has ever escaped His attention. He has promised to do away with evil and pain. He will lift up all those who have suffered. It is part of His plan and He yearns to heal the broken-hearted. Oh, how blessed are the ones whose faith has been tried, and yet they have kept their eyes on Him. These precious ones do not wish to hurt anyone else, only that cruelty is taken away for good. Let us all pray for the day when everyone who was made to suffer will be lifted up and all their troubles forever removed by the love and grace of God!

Dear Lord,

Come quickly to rescue the priceless souls who have looked to You! Take away their pain and hold them close forever, we pray!
