I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. Revelation 20:11 WEB
The little guy was only four when his parents took him to Disneyland for the first time. It was early morning when they went into the park and at that time of the year, not too many people had filed in through the gates. The family found themselves before the Jungle Cruise ride and there was hardly any line. They were on the boat in no time and the family settled down to enjoy the ride. But, the little guy seemed a little nervous and apprehensive. Sure enough, when his parents pointed out any new delight on the tour, the small boy hid his face and cuddled closer to his parents. He was terrified! Will we be anxious to see the face of God or will we try to hide?
We go about our lives like visitors to a theme park. We rarely stop to contemplate God. The Bible speaks of an upcoming day when all of creation will suddenly find ourselves confronted with things we cannot imagine. Some people are trying to prepare themselves. Some will work night and day to get their hearts right. These special people would like to come to know the One that we will soon see. There will be many marvelous surprises. Our imaginations cannot possibly prepare us. But if our hearts are right, if we know the One Who is coming for us, then we will not have to fear. Let us devote precious time now to developing a relationship with the God of Glories so that when the day comes, we will not have to hide our faces!
Dear Lord,
We do not know what to expect from the future. But help us to set our hope in You and do what we can to get to know You now while there is still time, we pray!
Amen
