In Power And In Spirit

The text where we get our messages from God might be from the same Bible. However, how each person interprets that message and how they store it away in their brains can be as different as can be. “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance.” (1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV) The trend may be to take the letter and try to convince the mind. We can compare text against text, use logic and all that, or, we could use the heart. If we let the words actually sink deep within us, they will bring us naked before the cross. We will have no excuses and no intellectual pride to interpret away our need for the Savior. Those hearts will be frightfully empty and that is the best part. Then, will our hearts open, the Holy Spirit may visit us! When He comes, He brings with Him wisdom that is not like ours. He brings strength that does not come from us. He brings His own presence near, so near, even inside of us so that we do not have to be alone. Let us pray that any word of God we hear will bring us nearer to the Lord and make our relationship with Him real and infinitely strong!
