Few things on earth are as powerful as the yearning of the human heart. Our desires drive us to achieve great and terrible things alike. This can be the best thing and it can be the worst.  Love, for example, can warm others. It can build them up, care for them, and spring into fountains of benefits. But, when love turns selfish, it can become tainted. The one who allows their sentiments of love to benefit them alone can only bring harm to all those around.

The Lord loves us with a love so unfathomable that He suffered at our hands in the hopes of saving us. When our hearts go out to Him it ties us to His goodness. We invest our hearts in the ultimate goodness. It is a goodness that we cannot imagine. Yet since it is so far higher than anything we can compare it to on earth, our horizons lift as we set these hearts on Him. So when the heart begins to long after the God of Love, let it soar!
