Try Me, God

Examine me, Yahweh, and prove me. Try my heart and my mind. Psalm 26:2:

Why me? Why this? And what now? These words may spill out of our mouths all too often. Yet, if we stop to think about it, we will see the value those trying times can hold.

Muscles tone and strengthen by putting them to the test. Every student gets tempted to complain about their studies. But it is what brings them knowledge and wisdom in the end. It should not be different in the spiritual condition of our souls.

If we can accept the challenge and the pain, we will also stand to see the gain. Should we take on all that confronts us with a strength that is not ours, we can handle much more than we imagined. With Christ walking with us through each step, we are strong. The beautiful part is that neither the strength nor the wisdom is ours!

So let us sing with the Psalmists to bring it on! Let the Lord come near us today and try our souls. If we discover, our hearts mingle with His Spirit, the outcome will dazzle us forever!
