Devout Christians look for a sign. They would love to know what seals us as the remnant of God. Though it might not be what they are looking for, there is one we could consider. The caliber of followers that Christ looks for can be found in those who seek the Lord.
David was loved by God. That love seems to surpass the grace that God showed to others. He took a shepherd boy and made Him king. God doted on him and made David´s life a story each of us should know well. Why? Why would God invest so heavily in a humble shepherd boy? David was after the heart of God!
Should we choose to follow in the footsteps of great men like David, we need to become like him. We may not be able to match his degree of faith just yet. But we can drive ourselves hard. We can seek the Lord. We can push ourselves in the pursuit of God like no one around us. If we do, we will know what it feels like to find favor in the Lord.
When you said, “Seek my face,” my heart said to you, “I will seek your face, Yahweh.” Psalm 27:8
