He could not imagine the fuller meaning of his words. Yet long ago, the Psalmist wrote of the coming Messiah. He lifted up the Son of God and encouraged us all to do the same. The writer warned us to test the caliber of our tribute to Christ. Through inspiration, he saw how shallow notions or word-deep faith can be. They can leave us short of a genuine connection with God. David also warned us of our way. Some people prefer not to see that they are either traveling on a path that leads to the Lord or away from Him.
What we convince ourselves is the right way might be something we are trying to fool ourselves with. Jesus is coming soon! There has never been a time more crucial to our connection to the Savior of the World. Whether we stand close to His side or not should be seriously looked at and prayed over! Blessed are the selected few, who will give up, give in, and seek Jesus Christ. They are the ones who take refuge in Him. Pray that we will be among those who run to the Lord now and save us from ourselves!
Dear Lord,
Let us find our wisdom and our worth in seeking You. Let us choose You and Your will over all that may try to distract us. Let us spend all eternity with the quest of growing ever closer to You, we pray.
Amen
