The tempests rage and any poor souls left out in them know. We cannot stand against the fury of the elements. Temperatures drop. Torrents flow. The earth quakes at the awesome might of God.
Short generations ago, we were better prepared to give God credit for things out of our control. Nowadays, though, we live and move in an artificial world. We go from the comfort of homes to air-conditioned workplaces. Even in our journey, we travel snugly in our transportation. Few of us stop to ponder what the Lord may or may not be doing in the environment He created for us to live in.
Blessed are those who stop to gaze. More blessed are those who drop to a knee. It takes a special kind of person in our day to let their spirit search for and contemplate the Almighty. In hushed reverence, these humble believers can draw near powers untold. We have the chance, still today, to behold the wonder that is our God. We can worship God and stand in awe of Him!
