“You´ve got this!” “You can do it!” Expressions like these sound harmless enough. But they show where our loyalties lie. They might sound like encouragement to our ears. But then we should listen to them when they come out of our mouths. “I have got this!” and, “I can do it!”
What things look like in spiritual terms is completely the opposite. When we are honest, we see that we should thank God for anything of real value. If we do something good, we owe it to our Savior and Maker. He is the One who has been holding off the dark and evil forces for much longer than we can imagine.
If we see a beautiful flower or a spectacular sunset, praise the Lord. If we witness an act of kindness or see the beauty in love, let our hearts appreciate it. All things have their origins. Credit can and should go to the One who controls it all.
So, if we would like to step closer to the truth, why not change what we say? Let us try, “Our God has got this!” Or “Our God can do it!” We would be taking a big step closer to Him in our relationship. And, most surely, we would witness even more of His power and presence in our lives!
