Soul, Don´t Despair

Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God. Psalm 43:5

Waves of despair sweep over and drag us under. No one is safe. We all must face tragic times. Life is full of uncertainties and trials. We can fight for a while, but then, we will all struggle with the weight of it all somehow.

In those gloomy times, we may look around. We take note of where we are and what we need. When we do, we are in the best position to find hope. Real hope does not come from some hidden piece of us. Nor is it tied to some secret recipe or circumstance. Hope is in the Savior.

When we turn our eyes away from our troubles, we can look to God. He stands on the other side of the grave. He is our triumphant King. His arms are open. He welcomes us and calls us unto Him. If we would make Him our hope, no grave will triumph over us either. If we can draw near to Christ, our souls do not need to worry over our difficulties or pains. Tell our souls not to despair. Jesus is near!

Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God.  Psalm 43:5 (WEB)
