Come Out And Worship

come-out-and-worship

But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.’  Acts 7:7 (NIV)

Stories written or told about the Old Testament, are shown to play out again in our times?  History repeats itself.  Lessons we learn of God, the hearts of men and of spiritual dealings are timeless.  They have the same importance and urgency for us now as they did way back when the first stories were unfolding.  Can we see any resemblance in the story that Stephen is telling?  Is there truth to be seen?  Can we find anything up-building for us in our lives now?

The inspired man shows how a people live in a land not their own.  They are misunderstood and mistreated.  But God has other plans for them and He takes the time to tell them.  They are to leave that country.  They will return to worship Him where He wants them.  The story is a fantastic one.  It shows the love, patience and might of our Lord.  Most of all it shows how God does work out His plan and brings His people to where He wants them!  He brings us home to Him!  Can we see Him working now?  Are we living out another story like the one before?  Where do we stand?  Where do we want to see ourselves in the workings of our Lord?  Are we getting close?  Are we making it to this Place where we can worship Him as He has always intended?  Are we?

Dear Lord,

Surely Your Children will come to worship You!  Help us to see, to understand, and work along with You!  Be our God!  Let us come truly to You and be Your people now we pray!

Amen
