Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13 NIV

The children were only allowed to play on their tablet when they were given direct permission. They knew it. But one day their father had to leave just before the babysitter arrived. He gave them a kiss and ran out the door. Before he made it far, he realized that he left his phone and went back inside to get it. He surprised the children and caught them before they could hide the fact that they were playing on the tablet when they shouldn´t. Have we ever thought that God would not see the secrets we hold in our hearts?

It is painful sometimes to think that God sees everything. It is so much easier to think that if we do not hold certain things consciously in our minds, God will not think of them either. But this is not the case. He wants us to be honest. To be honest with God, we must be honest with ourselves. We are to act as if we are doing everything right in the presence of our Father. This is because we are. Not even our thoughts are ever hidden from Him. They only demonstrate how much importance we place on what God wants for us. The children could have shown their father they wanted to do what he asked of them. Shall we pray that we can start living as if our Lord was right here beside us? If we can walk through our day with Jesus by our side, then will He be able to save us from thinking that we can hide something from God?

Dear Lord,

Please let us come so near to You that we can no longer fool ourselves. Show us how to walk as if we have nothing to hide from the One that nothing can be hidden from, we pray!
