Faith Reward

Hebrews 11:6 faith reward

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Late one night, a man popped on the TV and turned it to a program he and some of his friends liked to watch. It was a preacher´s show that most often had an encouraging message. But that night, the message that was broadcast on national television began to stir his soul into turmoil. The well-studied preacher was boasting that he had found the proof that the world had been searching for. He said that he could prove that Christ was indeed God the Father´s Son, sent to us to pay for our sins. His message is the hope and foundation of all our Christian belief. But could the message be missing something vital to our relationship to God?

Years later that man heard the call of God booming in his ears again. But this time it was the Holy Spirit whispering to him and not some arrogant speaker getting rich off of people´s offerings. This time, God had given him the gift of faith. Deep in the soul, the man chose to place God where questions and doubt had once reigned. He still knew he could not please God. But Christ was his hope. He just knew he needed to know Jesus and earnestly seek to be with him every day of his life. Where are we? Do we need proof? Or could we give faith a chance to well up from within and bring us to God? Do we want our searching to be rewarded? Shall we pray and ask God for a small gift of faith? Instead of passively accepting the word of scholarly professionals, shall we ask that we learn to step out in faith and seek our Savior in our lives today?

Dear Lord,

We hear that we can be rewarded by coming to know You. Please give us faith today that will make it possible, we pray!
