We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 1st John 5:20 NIV

A child picked up the chameleon he found in the garden and loved it immediately. It was an amazing bright green color with some darker patches. As he lifted it from its habitat, it changed to darker patterns and puffed its body up to look more frightening. Its eyes swiveled independently with one eye looking forward while the other could look back. The boy took this miracle of creation to show the gardener who was working on the other side of the house. When the native worker saw the creature, he threw down the tools he was working with on the yard and ran away in a panic. He was deathly superstitious and this little creature was something from the world of spirits to him. Do we know the One True God?

Every person alive must cultivate their own notions of what is true, where they stand on spirits, and whether they believe in God. The person who would try to turn their beliefs away from God will study modern science, philosophy, or carefully listen to the trends of our times. And the person who would want to try to add hope in God to their view of life will also have to do something to make it possible. This is where the miracle begins! Like the child who marveled over a fascinating little work of art, we too can wonder after God through a million thrilling discoveries. God waits anxiously to awaken us to an acute awareness of Him. The question is; who wants to know the One True God?

Dear Lord,

Prepare our hearts to come to know You. Then blow us away with a million exciting discoveries of You each day, we pray!
