I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name. 3rd John 1:14 NIV
Brothers were separated. Their jobs, their choices, and their new families had brought changes to their lives that left them spread across the globe. Now it took careful planning and a considerable saving of money and time off just to get together to see each other. However, it was important for them. So to be true to their hearts, it had to be done. A trip needed to be made. Days, months and even years were spent readying for the journey to cross the distances that separated them and bring hearts together again. Does our hope in God seem to be reflected in our yearning to be with our brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers?
The Christian is likened to a pilgrim on his or her way home. The Scriptures never encourage us to be so comfortable with our current surroundings that we stop sensing a deep need for something more. Our hearts should long to be with our family. Even though our joy may flow over to have our Lord and Savior walking through each day with us, His face, we still long to see. Our Heavenly Father has loved us with a love unfathomable. The more we come to know Him, the stronger our yearning will be to come before His throne in person and to see Him with our own eyes. Let us pray today to bring us together with the ones we love and also to draw us closer to the day we will be home with Him!
We yearn to come together as a family. As we recognize our heart’s strong desire to be together and love one another, let us hunger all the more to be with You and live forever in Your warm embrace, we pray!
