The Revelation

Revelation 1.1 The Revelation

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John  Revelation 1:1

As a man lay sleeping one night his eyes were opened like never before. He saw as clear as day an area like a quarry. He was standing there with his family and many other people. There were walls all around and up in the sky he saw some lights approaching. When he looked closer, he saw that they were angels with wings. Great anxiety began to mount up in his chest that he could not suppress, but those around him did not see the vision or even care. He looked up again and by then the angels were close enough that he could see their faces. One of them even looked straight at the man. He could not believe that this was actually happening and wondered at the meaning. Suddenly all of it disappeared into the most intense light. Have we ever had a revelation that woke us up to the awareness and nearness of God?

The man´s family knew nothing of his dream. He could not explain all that it made him feel and the immanent presence of God who was obviously looking down from Heaven on their little family. How could we ever let another person know what it feels like to know that they have a concerned Father that loves them and is dying to care for them? We learn from the Scriptures that our souls have been paid for in the eyes of eternity. Our Savior is coming to take us Home to be with our Father forever. The Holy Spirit is waiting for the chance to flash across our awareness and show us the wonders of God. Will we let Him?

Dear Lord,

Awaken us from our deep sleep. Quicken our hearts and thrill us with the knowledge of just how close You are, we pray!
