God Knows

Revelation 2:2 God Knows

“I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.  Revelation 2:2  WEB

The girl was studying at the university at the time, but she devoted one day a week to working with the needy. There was a center for autistic children in her city and she would go there and help out. The children she cared for were often older or larger than her, but in her heart, she knew they needed her help and appreciated her. When there was an opening, the center hired her on a more full-time basis. Some days were difficult. Some situations were dangerous for her as the children could not control their emotions as normal children learn to do. The young lady´s resolve and her dedication were tried many times. What do our works show?

The all-seeing God knows what we go through. He knows why we do what we do. There is nothing hidden from Him. He greatly appreciates people who let their heart go out to others. He sees His kind of love welling up in their hearts. He has labored for ages to bring up children who are difficult. We are all slow to learn what God wants us to become. We hear His words but are stubborn. We don´t know how to control ourselves or to work with Him to grow into healthy followers. This is why He holds dear to Him the ones who let His kind of love fill their hearts. The Lord sees those who feel for others and work to care for their temporary or eternal well-being. Shall we pray that God finds His love growing in us?

Dear Lord,

We are sorry if we have been thinking of ourselves. Put Your love in us and teach us perseverance so that You can find in us a people who care for Your children, we pray!

Amen
