After these things I looked and saw a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, was one saying, “Come up here, and I will show you the things which must happen after this.” Revelation 4:1 WEB
The young lady was starting to think that he and her husband´s decision to move to a new country had been the wrong one to make. She was painfully aware of how little grasp of the language she still had. How was she going to be able to find a job and keep it? Who would ever hire her? It had been hard enough for her husband to find work and he had been raised here. But with what little he earned in this new job, they could never survive. There was no other choice but to swallow her misgivings and fears, take her humble resumes and search the town for work. Have we ever needed to be given a break or to find an open door?
God was there for that girl with enough providence to take care of both her and her husband. A door was opened for her and she was called in for an interview and then hired straight away. We can be tempted to think that our situation looks bleak sometimes too. But if we would just lift our eyes up toward Heaven, we just might be able to see that there is a door open for us. We have received a call. We may need to swallow our misgivings and fear. We might not see it yet, but God has great plans for us! He is offering to take us in and care for us. Shall we pray that our eyes are open to see the opportunity He holds out for us to step into His presence and stay with Him for all that is to come?
Show us the door You hold open for us to come unto You. Help us see and move ourselves to respond to You, we pray!
