Being a Christian is essentially placing one´s faith in God without seeing or being able to understand Him. We believe in Him and His moral perfection while the rest of the world would try to tell us otherwise. This faith, this hope is a gift. It comes to us when humble ourselves enough to say that our opinions and intelligence will not determine reality for the rest of the universe. We do not even need to understand the whole concept of God, how He could be, or why? Understanding takes place in the brain, but faith takes place in the soul. To understand something one only needs to assimilate all the information. Believing, on the other hand, can be done when there is no evidence to prove it to others.
We are not called to understand, but to believe. (A.W. Tozer – The Price of Neglect)
