With a Loud Voice

Revelation 7:10 With a Loud Voice

They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”  Revelation 7:10  WEB

A man living in another country went to the local church one day with His family. They sat in the pews with the people of that town. Soon the service began. The whole program was different from what he was used to back in the churches where he grew up. Even the change of language made it difficult for him to feel that the service was bringing hearts near to God. There were several rituals during the service where people around the man seemed to know what to do and what to say. At every prompt from the pulpit, the congregation would dutifully respond. What response does the Lord get when we come before Him?

The foreigner may not have been able to tell how close the people around him were to God in the worship service that day. But, we have a picture from the Holy Scriptures of a gathering of the redeemed standing before the Lord in the great assembly. There, the response to coming before the throne is described as a loud cry. The words they use seem to overflow with gratitude, with love, with enthusiastic praise to the One who has loved them and saved them. If we might be interested in being one of those among the crowd that great day in Heaven, perhaps we should start seeking that kind of enthusiasm in our lives. Let´s pray that today we are made aware enough of all that the Lord has done for us, that we overflow with genuine enthusiasm when we bow before Him too!

Dear Lord,

Give us hearts that love to love You! Let these hearts soar, ache, and overflow with adoration as we come to worship You each day, we pray!

Amen
