Woe!

Revelation 8:13

I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!”  Revelation 8:13  WEB

Her other children were in school when the pregnant mother decided that her condition was deteriorating and she needed to get to the emergency room. Her husband drove her to the city which was almost an hour away. But, the car broke down on the way. The insurance company sent a taxi and a tow-truck. They used their taxi ride to get to the hospital. It was raining. It was not a good day. After tests, the mother learned that there was actually no baby growing in her womb even though proof had been there that she was. Have we ever had a sad day where things got really bad?

John writes to us to tell us that before all our pain will be removed, it will get worse. Our condition here on earth cannot be just roses and celebrations. Our world is suffering from a disease. That disease is called sin. It has afflicted the whole human race and is killing us all. There is a cure. But, before we can be restored, our faith in our fine condition is fake. We need a Savior. We need the Lord to clean us of our straying hearts. From the bum on the street to the confident priest, we all need Jesus to restore us to eternal health. So if we hear of tough times ahead, or begin to suffer through some difficult days, let us seek the right kind of help. Let´s stop living like everything is OK and get real close with the Savior who will bring us safely home!

Dear Lord,

Draw us so near to You now in a loving walk that we will have strength and faith to make it through even the darkest of the coming days, we pray!

Amen
