Prepared

Revelation 9:15

The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.  Revelation 9:15  WEB

A man stopped by to pick up his wife who was working at a coffee shop. While he was waiting, his wife´s boss came over to talk to him. After a short conversation, the boss offered the man a job in the warehouse. A few weeks later he took over the stocking of the small chain´s different sites and started learning the ins and outs of the warehouse business. A few months later he had revamped the warehouse and was placed in charge ordering. The boss was so happy with his progress that he asked the man how much he wanted to earn so that he would be happy working there. Everything looked like things were falling into place. But the man´s days at that business were numbered, and due to unforeseen circumstances, he was let go far too soon. Is our future sure?

Prophecy in the Bible gives us much to look forward to. We can set our hope on seeing the face of God, on living with Him forever, and we are also told that all our sorrows will be swept away. But the Bible also tells us that it will not always be smooth sailing right up to that day. Scriptures talk of tough times where every person alive, both believer and non-believer, will be reminded that God alone is in charge of our universe. Unfortunately, the Bible also says that many will still refuse to bow down and seek to restore their relationship with God. If hearing that we will pass through scary times does not make us want to be close to our Saviors´ side, then we have more than enough cause to fear the future.

Dear Lord,

Please give us each a humble heart that moves us to seek You now, before we see any really tough times, we pray!

Amen
