and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay, Revelation 10:6 WEB
A newlywed woman was waiting for her husband. He had gone to sea over two months earlier, and although she finally was able to phone him when he reached shore, he was still not back in her arms. Another whole week went by, a few more phone calls, until, finally he had his ticket and was coming home! Have we ever waited for something that we wanted really bad?
The Christian is a peculiar person in that we are in love with Someone who loves us and we love Him without having ever met Him in person. We have set our hope and our affection on Him because He first loved us. He made sacrifices for us that no other person could ever do. He left glories untold to come to us and rescue us from our unbelief and our wandering hearts. Now, in this late hour, although we may talk to our Savior often, we can begin to yearn to see Him with an intensity that overcomes us. This desire to be with the One we love can and should increase within us until it motivates all that we do! So whatever we must focus on today, let our hearts go out to the Maker of All Things! Let our souls burn within us and scream out the words; “Please Lord, let there no longer be any delay!”
Dear Lord,
Kindle the fire deep within us of love for You! Let our love for You fan into a raging fire that consumes us and keeps us looking forward to the day we will see Your face, and come home to You, and be there in Your arms forever, we pray!
Amen
