High up on a hill overlooking the city, a family strolled around the Castle walls. They took pictures through the gaps in the battlements and of the views overlooking the protected bay. It was a special day for them on their holiday and they all enjoyed it immensely. It was interesting to read of the history of the place and the kings and queens who had lived there in times past. How aware are we of the state of the kingdoms of our world and how familiar are we with the King who is about to set up His Kingdom?

We may think it is exciting to learn about powerful times in the past. But what we are living through today is on a far grander scale. We shall soon see the Kingdom of God take over command from the kingdoms of the world. It will not spread over a part of a map or even over our globe. It will encompass absolutely everything we know and a great deal of what we do not yet know of the universe. It will not be a government that lasts for a few centuries but for eternity. It will be the end of all the eras that we are familiar with. It will be the beginning of a new Heaven and a New Earth. It is something that we can well afford to get excited about! Our Lord and our Savior are already preparing for the great ceremony! Shall we start to feel the thrill and get ourselves ready too?

Dear Lord,

Make us ready for Your Kingdom! Help us get excited and anxiously prepare for the great upcoming day where Your Kingdom is established and we can bow before and worship You our King, forever, we pray!
