Trumpets sound and the drumroll begins. All rise in anticipation for His arrival on stage. Emotions begin to overwhelm the audience as they wait with bated breath. As the moment approaches when we will finally meet the One whom we have waited for so long, a thought comes to mind. It is a doubt. We begin to see how awkward this is. How can such common people stand in the presence of such royalty? These rags that we are wearing are not elegant enough to be seen with the King! And what about our resume? Surely our small and insignificant offerings must seem ridiculous. Tension mounts as our predicament becomes evident to us. Oh, who are we trying to fool? We are not worthy! But wait! The Prince we are preparing to meet has been here too! Jesus humbled Himself and wore our rags. He walked these streets and He set His hope and His devotion on the Father above. He suffered just as we have and His only thought was to do God´s will. This is the One we have come here to see. We have learned to love Him because He first loved us. So great was His love for us that He left His throne to come and save us! Now, He is coming again to take us into His arms! So let us feel the fear, and rejoice in our trembling! We are preparing to meet our Lord who has been yearning for this encounter much longer than we have!
