She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne. Revelation 12: WEB
The woman waited uncomfortably through the days after her due date. This pregnancy had been harder on her than her first one. The weather had not helped either and the temperatures had been high. But, then came the night when the contractions came. In the hospital, she was horrified to hear that there would be no injection to help her with the pain. There was not a lot of time to cry about it though, and in no time at all, she was holding her newborn baby boy. Do we still wonder at the great sign of the woman who had her baby and He was caught up to the throne of God?
The Holy Scriptures have never touched us at all until we can read the lines written there and wonder. When we begin to sense the excitement of marvelous workings far deeper than our understanding, then the Bible is beginning to open up to us. When we sense the awe, the miraculous arm of God moving into the sphere of our awareness, then the wonder starts. This wonder can turn into a mighty craving to learn more each day. The Son, who was caught up to the throne of God, will be the King that we long to see and worship. So, when we read of the remarkable story of Christ, let our hearts leap within our chests! Let us rejoice and seek greater knowledge of Him each day and a closer walk with Him all the time!
Dear Father in Heaven,
Open our hearts to ponder and wonder over all Your marvelous ways! Give us our King born to the woman, and let us explore the riches of knowing Him! Increase our desire and draw us nearer to Christ in Spirit each day, we pray!
Amen
