At War

Revelation 12:17

The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.  Revelation 12:17

A woman was hired once to join a team of teachers who would help open a new preschool wing at a school. This woman was hired because by law they needed to have at least one teacher of her qualification to open it and advertise it as the organization wanted. She spent the rest of her summer holidays traveling to and from the new school preparing everything. Then the school year began, but when her first check arrived, she found out that they did not respect the terms or conditions that she had agreed to. But, what was she supposed to do then? Have we ever wondered why devious people still get away with their horrible plans and take advantage of the poor honest people?

In a perfect world, everyone would have a conscious and people would not take advantage of others. But there is evil running wild in our world. It hates what is good. It will try to ruin whatever is pure and honest. It is sad, but anyone can see that hatred and harm are found nearly everywhere. The Bible tells us a little about what is going on and why these things must be. But the Scriptures do not leave it at that. They go on to give us hope for a day when all this will change. An amazing plan has been put into action and effective prices have been paid by God and His Son. If we put our hope in the Lord, we may find ourselves being hated by everything that is evil. But for the hope set before us, it will be well worth the cost!

Dear Lord,

Keep us near You while evil reigns and make sure that we will soon see the day when all is made right, we pray!

Amen
