In some countries, there is a little booklet that is given to a couple when they get married or have their first child. It is called “El Libro de la Familia.” It is a legal document and is for having written proof of things like marriage, births of children, and deaths that occur within that immediate family. One young couple, however, was overseas when their first child was born. They were walked through the steps that needed to be taken in that country but never realized that when they returned to live in Europe again, their son was not written in the family book. Do we realize what it could mean for our names to be written or not written in the Lamb´s Book of Life?

It is spelled out for us in the Scriptures that there are these two types of people. There are ones who on earth will worship the beast. And there is another kind of people whose names are written in the book of the Lamb. Christ was killed so that this second type of person may have their reward. They will have that what they have set their hearts upon. If what they desired is what the beast has to offer, then their names would not be written in the Book of Life. But, because they chose the Lamb as the One the will place their hope in, instead of the prestige, the comfort, the riches of the world, their future is secure. Who are these? We would love to say that we are the ones. But only a few we are told will press on to know the true leaning of their hearts. Pray that we go far enough today to give our Lord the chance to write our names in His Book of Life!
