The Rider of the White Horse

I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war.  Revelation 19:11  WEB

The father of the groom and the father of the bride sat near each other at a table at the celebration dinner to try to get to know each other. They were from different countries and neither spoke the other´s language, so it was difficult. The bride´s brother was also there and he spoke a little English. He was trying to help translate as best he could. The bride´s father told a story of a horse that he remembered from his childhood. He made animated gestures with his hands to help with his description. When the groom´s father could not understand, he turned to his translator asking, “What is he saying?” The reply came back, “He is very happy with his horse!” When reading prophecy, what comes across to us?

Revelations tells of a rider on a white horse and the meaning is clear. The Rider is what is important! In a world where faithful and true seem nearly non-existent, He is both. He is the only One who can judge or make war in righteousness. We would do well to spark our interest in His story. It could be eternally important for our souls to ask the Holy Spirit to bring the significance of this great Rider to our longing hearts. Heaven will soon be opened. All that we cannot see will be revealed. There will be some who have been longing to see this great Rider. Some will want to know Him and will be waiting to see Him. These special people could be us. Let us set our hearts above all else. Let us look up and long to learn of more than just the horse, but about the Great Rider who is call Faithful and True!

Dear Lord,

Thrill us with the knowledge that we will soon see our King. Set our hearts on seeing Him coming to us really soon, we pray!

Amen
