The human need to know they are appreciated by someone is felt by us all. We could go on seeking the approval of family, friends or peers. Or, we could recognize this deep-seated desire and use it to bring us closer to the One who made us, redeems us, and calls us unto Him. Should we choose to find favor in God´s eyes, many of our troubles will vanish in an instant. We will soon learn that we do not need as much, the approval of all the lesser opinions. The closer we grow to Christ, the less importance we will feel to impress those around us. The more we enjoy the company of the Divine, the more frivolous and cheap we will understand our levels of society to be. If we can choose the company in which we keep, then let´s choose to spend more time with the Holy Spirit and less time worrying where we stand with everyone else!
