He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:16 WEB
The religious school where the lady worked for years had a small chapel. They were all expected to attend frequent services there even if they were not from the same religious background. At the front, there was a strange little box. The church leaders were quite proud of having it there. The box had a special name and it was soon explained to the teacher that the box was for Jesus. He was supposed to be there with them in their school because they had that box for Him. Do we have our religious notions all wrapped up for us in a box too?
People can easily brush off the idea, but the Son of God could never be wrapped up into a neat little package that some will own and others not. There are many different terms used to describe God´s Son and the Savior who purchased our souls. Not even the names can give us an adequate picture of His power or significance to our futures. There exists no box that can contain Him nor any religion that could wrap Him into any neat little package. When the Savior of the World will be revealed every man, woman, and child who has ever lived will fall before Him. When the King of Kings is seen for Who He is, all praise in Heaven and earth will be given to Him. So, before we brush lightly past the thought of Jesus today, let´s check how we are holding the Lord of Lords in our hearts.
Dear Lord,
Come examine our hearts with us today. Help us see where or how we could be limiting Your power or presence in our lives, in our souls, and in our day, we pray!
Amen
