Another forty-five minutes wasted on the phone. The calls to the phone company were growing tedious. They would promise that the problems were solved with their bill. They would swear that this time they got it right and that you had nothing to worry about. But when the next statement came around, you were sure to find a surprise somewhere. Why was it so difficult to get the promised prices and services? Why could you not speak to a customer service agent from your own country who understood you or that you could understand? It seemed like every time you spoke on the phone, someone was trying to take advantage of you or deceive you somehow. Do we know that the deceiving will soon end?

God has spoken. He has told us that the deceiving would happen. But, just as the Lord has set times in life for everything, He has also decreed that the deceiver´s time will end. Evil´s ugly reign on earth will end. When God sees that the time is right, He will remove the reign that darkness has had here on earth. There will be no more pain, lying, or sadness. It is truly a day worth looking forward to. Would we like to hold on to a hope like that? Are we ready to see the end of deception and the beginning of a good Kingdom where we can happily live together in the presence of our loving God?

Dear Lord,

Please hurry Your plans and bring Your promised justice to the ugliness of this world. Give us a hope to be near You where there will be no more fear of deception, pain or loss, we pray!
