He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years, Revelation 20:2 WEB
The power went out unexpectantly in the house. The family had just finished cooking lunch. The power company eventually responded to their calls but the technicians didn´t arrive until the following day. They connected the power again temporarily and explained that the company would be sending someone to replace the faulty meter. Months passed by and the letters started coming in. The family was being accused by the electric company of stealing their electricity. The family had done nothing wrong and could not believe that they were being accused of fraud even though they did not even have access to the building´s electric box. It all sounded strangely like some kind of scheme for the rich to get richer and the poor to be taken advantage of. Are we anxious to see the world´s deceiver bound?
The Bible is under attack in our day. People will make it out to be a farce and do anything to keep it from speaking to us. But there are treasures within its pages that we could use today. For example, the Scriptures tell of a coming day when the deceiver of mankind will be locked away. He will not be allowed to lead us astray. That is a day worth looking forward to. Hope can come to us again. Faith can be restored in all that is good. We can suffer here on earth a little easier knowing that evil will not always have its way. If we would like to fill our hearts with hope in a future where all the greed, selfishness, and hurting will end, then let us embrace the prophecy today!
Come soon dear Lord,
Give us hope that will strengthen us until You can effectively do away with evil and bring us all Home to You, we pray!
Amen
