I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12 WEB
The young couple sat down on a bench looking out into the harbor. Behind them was the path that ran along the waterfront. They placed the baby stroller in front of their feet and pulled out a bit of a picnic lunch. While they were feeding the baby, a gentleman passing behind them stopped to ask directions. They were both distracted for only a second. But when they resumed their stroll, they discovered that their camera bag had been stolen from under the baby stroller. They could not believe the skills with which the thieves had managed to relieve them of their most valuable commodities.
Worse than losing their cameras, the couple mourned the loss of their baby´s earlier photos. The police took down their story but doubted that the criminals would be held accountable for the crime. Christians know that a day of accountability will come. Books will be opened and nobody will be able to hide from God how they have walked through this life. Many act as if God will not ask any questions about our greed, selfishness, or our cruel and insensitive moments. But, Heaven help us all! The Bible says that there will be hope for some. Those who have come to know the Son of God as their Savior will be able to stand in the day of Judgment. Those who put their hope in Christ can look forward to a day when goodness, justice, and love will all be restored. We can have this hope too!
Dear Lord,
Let us come to know You and walk closely with You so we will see the day when joy and justice will be restored, we pray!
Amen
