A couple went to visit some friends who had just bought a new house in the country. They took their tiny baby with them. They carried the little guy in their arms as they toured the new place and chatted with their hosts. But it was not long and the baby began to cry. The concerned parents tried everything to comfort and reassure him but it did not work. He kept crying. They tried feeding the baby, but he only cried more. Eventually, the visit had to be ended and the couple took their baby home. There was no other way to end his crying. Have we ever dreamed of a day without tears?

The Bible points our aching hearts towards a future day where there will be no more pain. Tears will be dried as God will wipe away every cause that makes us suffer. When we are finally Home with our Lord, all things will be made new. This old way of life, these causes and effects will not trouble us there. In the presence of the God who made us and redeemed us out of love, suffering will disappear. That is a future worth looking forward to. To come near our Savior is something worth seeking. To hold on to a promise, like having our pains removed, is worth doing anything here on earth to receive! Let our hearts yearn to be with God where pain will be no more!

Dear Lord,

We want our hope to be able to soar up above this world to a place where we can be with You! We want to look forward to a day when we are in Your arms and know what it is like where there will be no more pain. Please lead us there, we pray!
