Christ Is Coming

“Behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”  Revelation 22:7  WEB

Dinner was ready and the mother called her children. One of them responded. “Okay, I am coming.” The other did not say anything. Time went by and neither one showed up. Mom had to call them again. This time there was more urgency in her voice. It was getting late. Pretty soon the child that had not said anything walked into the room and sat down at the table still without a word. The boy that had originally said he was coming needed to be called once again. Do we resemble either of the two boys?

There is One who says He is coming soon. He is not like us or the boys in the story. He is the only One who knows how short or long time is and how much is left. When Christ says something, He is the only person who can truly say what He will or will not do. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows how much those who wait for Him must suffer. His timing is perfect and His presence is worth waiting for. When the Son of God comes to take us home with Him as promised, all anxiety will be wiped away in an instant. Those who set their hopes in Him will soon see His face. In a world gone mad, like the one we live in now, what a joy it will be to finally see the Holy One. What a thrill will be ours who have yearned to meet their Father in Heaven because that is what the Son has promised us!

Dear Lord,

Come soon! We need You, we long to see You! Let our hearts begin to sense Your arrival and mount up in hope! Send Your Spirit to fill us with Your love and prepare us to see Your face, we pray!

Amen
