It may seem strange to people who call themselves Christians to hear someone say that they are not as close to God as they should be. We all made our decision to follow Christ or have chosen against it long ago, and may brush the subject off whenever it pops up. But the truth is that God wants us to draw closer to Him. We can never sit back in pride and comfort in our choices and not worry over the state of our hearts. God´s true children are those who are pushing themselves daily and training their hearts to search for the Lord in every moment of our lives. The precious chosen ones of God commune with Him throughout their day. Whenever we take our eyes off God, the world looms into focus. We start to think of ourselves, our lives, and our aspirations. We are easily tricked into forgetting that Christ is in the garden of our hearts and is waiting for us there. He wants to walk with us in the cool of the evening. The Lord longs to fill our hearts and the vision of our souls. Let us never miss out on the opportunity that today brings or that our faith in Christ brings. Let us yearn for the Lord as much as He yearns for us! Let us seek to be with the Lord in increasing amounts each day!
